Pogflipper - Anthology (Coco Bryce Remix)

Haven't posted for a little. I think the novelty of blogging might slowly be wearing off. That and the fact that I've had a CRAZY couple of days, but that won't stop me from sharing the musical joy!
Like this little remix right here from Coco Bryce, featuring dreamy keys and a deep squelchy bass line. Enjoy!

Visit Pogflipper and Coco Bryce's Sounclouds for more good music.

Ciao.

prof.logik - Space Debris

Incoming transmission... Stand by.

Space Debris is entering our atmosphere!
This is the first free release from prof.logik (check out his Soundcloud). I didn't post them in chronological order, I was just too excited about Audible Palindrome, I couldn't help myself.

So, this six track album is more skweee-ish style hip-hop beats, some of it is kinda reminiscent of Samiyam's Rap Beats Vol. 1, only it has a space adventure theme! What could be better? Brilliant.

Prepare yourself for an interstellar flight to another galaxy.

...Over and out.

prof.logik - Audible Palindrome

So, I'm just kicking back listening to Flying Lotus sitting in for Benji B on Radio 1 right now. Sweet!

But before that I was listening to THIS... and daaaaamn, what an album! My favourite track is a little gem called BiT bY bIt. Really feeling that 8bit funk at the moment.
What are you waiting for? Download the whole album for free! Let me know what your favourite track is...

And if you have a second or two to spare, check out prof.logik's Soundcloud and Myspace.

Peace!

Dpeee - Ocean

What can I say!?

I don't know much about Mr. Dpeee, he has had this one tune on his Soundcloud for a while and it is dope! Click the link above for FREE download and rinse your ears out with this filthy broken beat.

"Big fish in a small pond!"

Till next time.

Dark0 - Serotonin EP

Dark0 has come out with some pretty sick music of late. Two releases spring to mind; If Only, which is out now on NE Records and HYLI, amazingly still unsigned!

The Serotonin EP has been available to download since October 2010 from Dark0's Bandcamp. The album is mainly atmospheric future garage or dubstep, while some tracks adopt a more uplifting, minimal feel.
Exquisite stuff! ...and its all free for you lovely people here taking heed to the Troubled Hermit.

Don't forget to visit Dark0's Myspace and Soundcloud.

Ciao!

devonwho - 3P

devonwho (no capital D here please) produces some real innovative, experimental, wonky hip-hop. This 3 track release from back in 2009 is the only free material I can find from this guy. But damn, just the first track 'glow' alone is a good enough reason to click on the link above. Try it. It might change your life for the better.

Also check out devonwho on Soundcloud and Bandcamp.

Peace.

eLan - Magnificent Mistakes EP

So here we have eLan's 2009 beat compilation. I know its old, but its still great, wonky, triptastic hip-hop. Hence my posting. I want to have all the free beats and albums in one place for convenience sake. I hope you guys benefit from it too!

Peace.

Echodub Label & Collective

This is really worth a look!

The Echodub label and collective, run by DFRNT, an independant producer, DJ and web designer hailing from Scotland. He has a great selection of free albums on his website. Focusing on the ambient, electronica side of dubstep, the artists on Echodub present clean, consistent, high quality sound.

Try Anechoic Chamber, Echodub Loves Vol. 1 & 2, and Anechoic Chamber Remixed.

Nice.

eLan - famLay

Are you ready for something special? I hope you are.
Check out this 2010 beat tape from eLan, who's squelchy, glitchy brand of hip-hop is definitely soul food. So from eLan to you, via me, here is famLay, a nice example of what eLan and friends can achieve when they got the itch to make some of that funky glitch. Oh yes, and its free. Of course.

Take a peek at eLan's Soundcloud and Myspace.

Enjoy.

Indigo Pyramid - Indigo Shades

Another free beat tape, this time from the Indigo Pyramid crew. This one dropped early last year, a compilation of experimental, electronic hip-hop to set ya mind free! Massive props to the guys at Indigo Pyramid for putting this together. Looking forward to the release of Indigo Shades Vol 2.
This album features beats from producers such as Infinite Potentials, Billion Dollar Quartet, Shlohmo, 0., Elan, 10thLetter and Nigel One.

Check out the Indigo Pyramid Soundcloud.

------------

Also, here is a special treat in the form of some hard to find remixes from these guys. Download HERE.

And... another extra extra extra special treat. The aptly named 8bitITAL_LION, a free track from Infinite Potentials, the man behind it all. You can find that HERE!

Peace and love.

Planet Boelex - Discography

This one is a gem, believe me...

Sticking with the theme of free music, here is Planet Boelex. Brilliantly crafted, dreamy electronic sounds from Finland. Their complete discography is available to download. That is some serious love. I recommend checking out tracks from the albums RajaSuunta, Little World and the
Second Thoughts & Misplaced EPs. You can download the entire discography at once or browse through their cool website and get individual tracks.

Once again, its all FREE!!!

Peace out.

Pogflipper - Momentarily Lost

The new album Momentarily Lost is a nine track journey into the mind of the Pogflipper.
Expect uplifting synth melodies talking to sentient space beings and subtle levels of conciousness. Experimental music with a real organic feel.
Absolutely FREE to download out of pure love.

Big up Alex.
Check Pogflipper's Soundcloud and Myspace.

Peace.

The First Post

This is my new blog, I have never blogged before. In fact, once upon a time I enjoyed expressing myself through writing. When I was young, I loved reading books and writing fantasy stories. Unfortunately the education system has knocked a lot of the passion out of it for me.
More recently I have been thinking about writing some kind of autobiography, but my girlfriend gave me the idea of writing a blog. I think this is a better way of getting my thoughts and ideas out there, whilst at the same time telling my story.

So, that will be my first post, an introduction to The Troubled Hermit.
To give you some idea of who I am, I'll give you the basics:
I am 24 years old. I am white British, I was born in, and have lived in London UK all my life. So I consider myself a Londoner, which is cool because I have all the cultural experiences of growing up in South East London.

My parents are both teachers by profession, so naturally I am quite intellectual. I also come from a pretty creative background. I love music, dance, art, film, video games.

So I'll leave it there for now, but I hope to fill this blog with STUFF, lots of stuff.

Good stuff, especially music. Soon.

Peace.
